DJI Phantom 3 ProfessionalIt’s April and it seems DJI have something new up their sleeve, we have inside info that this is their latest release; the golden DJI Phantom 3 Professional. Sporting a 4K DJI branded camera and vision positioning its a decent upgrade from the Phantom 2.

As we are yet to get our hands on one, all I can do is share my thoughts on the two main things we really want to test.

The DJI f 2.8 lens camera

It can record 12MP photos or 4K video and seems to be a single piece aluminum shell case. It does look overly large however this is due to a nice size sensor chip and decent optics. We are expecting awesome low light and sharpness.

Probably the most interesting part other then spec upgrades is 3D mapping sensors, called the DJI VPS it will sense terrain indoor and outdoor and works without GPS. This is a new tech form DJi and will enhance the safety and quality of footage you get and hopefully save your ass from GPS fallout.
DJI Phantom 3 ProfessionalAnother thing I am curious about is the DJI phantom 3’s ability to live stream YouTube and easy editing, you can create an instant stream as soon as you hit the sky. Twitter recently released their live streaming and  YouTube seem not too far behind too.

As always we have the full specs on the Phantom 3 product page, it will come in 3 versions, one with a spare battery, one standard and the professional 4K version. Release date is not confirmed but we think it should be in the upcoming month.

Although the golden phantom 3 accent maybe hard to see at a distance and  they have not really changed the exterior, its performance easily gives it the golden standard and is our hot pick for early 2015 quads.
