I have to say that Yuneec Typhoon Q500 and Q500+ own very attractive appearance and looks professional that people can’t help believing in it. They are high end RC quad copters, and Q500+ is the upgraded version. They are promoted at the same time aiming to satisfy different consumers’ different desire for functions.
Actually, Yuneec Typhoon Q500 itself is a nice quad copter sharing many same features with Q500+. Although Q500+ has improved and added several functions, that will not be a threat to it. And i think the largest advantage of Q500 maybe is its pricing. As the two pictures below show, Q500 is charged about US$100 lower than Q500+.
In the aspect of image effect, undoubtedly, Yuneec Typhoon Q500+ is superior. Yuneec Typhoon Q500 is equipped with CGO2, an innovative combination of a 3-axis gimbal, camera and digital video downlink, offering full HD 1080p video and 12MP still photos. On the basis of this, Q500+ increases the pixel to 16MP! What it adopts is a superior modular- CGO2+ which not only offers higher pixel, but also integrates the aerial and ground imaging solution as well as offers a steady grip.
In addition, ST10 that Yuneec Typhoon Q500 applies is a 2.4 GHz RC transmitter with 10 channels that also includes built-in hardware and functionality for a 5.8 GHz video downlink and FPV, which means that you’ll no longer need separate components to view real-time video and telemetry data during flight. But what makes ST10+ Q500+ adopts different from ST10 is just that it owns a 5.5 inch LCD screen that is 1inch larger than ST ‘s.
Powered by 5400mAh 3S 11.1V LiPo battery, both of them are able to fly up to 25minutes. As far as i am concerned, i think Yuneec Typhoon Q500 is good enough for me to play. Although the pixel is lower, screen is a little bit smaller, they are fine if not compared with Q500+, and we will spend less money. But if you really eager to own better or more functions, and pay less attention to the difference in price, then Yuneec Typhoon Q500+ is surely your best choice.
